Situated in the heart of the town the Colyton. Our school is still housed in the original 1874 buildings! We pride ourselves on being part of the Colyton community and the school encourages and promotes these strong bonds we have with the town. All of the children who took part were amazing and put everything into each event. They all performed to the best of their ability and did themselves proud.
Thank you to all of the parents who provided lifts and stayed to watch the event.
First Half Term in Class B
What an incredible first half term we have had in Class B! The children have been fully immersed in our space topic and have learnt all about the First Moon Landing, our solar system and one of Tim Peake’s experiments in space. They also showed great imagination when designing their own planets!
The children have been looking after our class alien, Beegu, incredibly well and were highly creative when writing their stories called ‘Beegu’s Bad Birthday.’ These stories were based on our core literacy text ‘Boa’s Bad Birthday’ by Jeanne Willis.
We now look forward to our new topic ‘Terrific Transport’!
First half term in Class C
We have had a super busy first half term in Class C. The children have fully embraced the Transport topic and have produced some fantastic work linking to this. We have created our very own “Little book of Colyton” which was influenced by our walk around the town. It is a non-fiction book and our ideas came from our key Literacy text “Our local area- Transport”. The children have also written some fantastic stories based on our second key text Mrs Armitage and the big wave!
During DT this half term we have been planning and designing our very own vehicles. These turned out to be absolutely fantastic, and the children in Class C where very proud of their hard work!
